#KaimukiProperties: Jan 2016 Housing Update


The demand to live in Kaimuki continues to rise. Comparing resale statistics from January 2015 to January 2016, the median price for a single family home in Kaimuki increased 1.6% to $950,000 from $935,000.

To put things into perspective, the median price for a single family home on Oahu, during the month of January 2016, was $733,500.

January was a strong month of sales. Single family and condominium prices were double digits respectively. In comparison to January 2015, single family homes saw an increase of 10.5%, while condominiums were up 18.2%.

The increase in price is reflective of the chronic housing shortages on Oahu.
