Your home is your castle. So why not take care of it? Well, when it comes to home maintenance, most homeowners have an out of sight, out of mind approach. That's not okay. Rather than having a never-ending list of things to do, here are a few things you can do to ensure your home is maintained:
1. Smoke Detectors
This is an easy thing to check, but many of us forget to do it. Most experts will advise you to check your smoke detectors at least once a once.
In addition, don't forget to change the batteries when it's low or dead. This is another tasks that most people will forget to do. It'll be easier to buy batteries by the bulk. That way, you can change all the batteries for your smoke detectors at the same time.
Lastly, you should have smoke detectors throughout your home. A fire can happen anywhere.
2. Clean
Not to many people like to clean, but doing it in small chunks can make it more manageable. The areas that can be hard to clean are sinks, the shower/tub, and the toilet (because these areas are exposed to water). Rather than letting all the gunk build up, you should take a clean these areas times a month.
Think about it. You probably wash your hands, shower, and use the restroom daily. After you do one of these things, I don't think it's too hard to spray on a cleaner and to do some light scrubbing.
3. Change Out The Drain Catchers
Having a drain catcher is one of the easiest ways to prevent clogs. I know, it can be a little gross to remove all the hair and gunk from the drain catcher. However, it's important you change out the catchers routinely.
